In 2006, Leanne began her career in the field of optometry. Graduating from Centennial College as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Leanne worked alongside Ontario’s best ophthalmologists, assisting with Lasik and cataract surgeries. With the experience she acquired, Leanne was able to make an easy transition into the world of Vision Therapy.
Leanne has successfully completed the clinical curriculum of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and is a member of the College of Syntonic Optometry.
She completed the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) in the summer of 2018 and is a proud member of Vision Therapy Canada.
Leanne dedicates her free time to instructing PVTAP workshops and mentoring up & coming Canadian vision therapists.
In April 2020, Leanne was selected as the newest member of the Vision Therapist Committee and was nominated for the ‘Vision Therapist of the Year’ award. Leanne continues to expand her knowledge of vision development by attending continuing education courses yearly.
Leanne has almost 10 years of experience as a vision therapist in Canada and Australia. In that time she has helped rehabilitate countless patients with visual difficulties following a concussion/acquired brain injury and takes great pride in working with kids who are struggling in the classroom due to learning-related vision problems and patients with strabismus & amblyopia.
Leanne’s involvement with Vision Therapy Canada has allowed her to meet other amazing therapists and optometrists who share her affliction for vision therapy and every opportunity has furthered her growth. Through years of experience in the areas of visual health, visual development, and rehabilitation, Leanne has helped countless patients resolve their visual problems and looks forward to working with many more to come.
